About Milngavie

Milngavie is situated in the North West of Glasgow in the valley of the River Allander. It has a population of approximately 14,000 and has some  of the most highly desired residential areas in the Glasgow region.

It is some 5-6 miles from Glasgow city centre. It offers easy and quick access to Glasgow Airport, the Scottish Exhibition Centre, Burrell Collection shopping, and of course all the cultural and artistic facilities offered by a great city.

It is convenient to the Clyde coast and to the North Sea, Stirling, The Trossachs, Loch Lomond, Blane Valley, and Scotland’s first long distance walking route – the West Highland Way – starts at Milngavie.

The town centre, locally known as ‘Milngavie Precinct’, is based around the original village centre and has been pedestrianised since the 1970′s. Within the Milngavie area there are many features and amenities which make up its special character and account for its popularity as the ideal town in which to reside.
