Monday Swing
Milngavie Town Hall - Monday 5th Sept - 8pm
To open the Festival week and beat those Monday blues: Monday Swing (when else? The Clue's in the name).
"Swing" originated in the thirties, and was introduced to the listening and dancing public by bands such as those of Duke Ellington, Count Bassie, Benny Goodman and Glen Miller.
Performed in their bright, lively and entertaining style by this ever-popular community based band with a guest volcalist, and MD Ian Jenkins.
Proceeds go to the Dunbartonshire Wind Ensemble Trust, supporting young players.

Scotland’s foremost flute quartet, playing large and small members of the flute family, Flutes en Route have given recitals throughout the UK, including a performance for Prince Charles. They take us on a musical journey through legend and folk tales, with music by Rimsky Korsakov, Ravel, Rory Boyle, Grieg, Jean-Michel Damase and one of their own members, Sarah Hayes.

Boo Hewerdine

Boo's quiet outward personality is the perfect front for a man who can deliver tender heart-wrenching beautiful lyrics and as well as foot tapping up beat arrangements that will have you crying out for more.
